The Supported Living program is a residential
program of Abilities Unlimited of Jonesboro, Inc. For adults (age
18 or older) who have a developmental disability and may in addition be
emotionally and/or physically disabled and are in need of specialized services.
The program operates 365 days a year on a 24 hour basis. The individuals
are involved in various activities which address specific needs providing:
habilitation training; diagnosis and evaluation; transportation, personal
and social adjustment sessions, community resource awareness and use ,
and counseling and guidance. A Case Manager and Coordinator, case
manager and coordinator assistant, and team leader program implementors
are the facility staff that work directly with the individual along with
the Director of Consumer Services and other professional support staff.
Individualized program plans are used with each individual so as to be
able to work on very specific needs. This program provides transportation
and three daily meals, and is designed to meet the needs of those who need
supports to learn to live more independently in the community.
