911 SERVICES

The 911 Services are individually contracted services created to meet the specific support needs of dually diagnosed individuals.  They are individual support services specifically designed for persons with multiple disabilities including that of developmental disabilities convicted by the courts who are serving time at the State Hospital.

This is a CASSP Program and is a performance based contract which is negotiated similarly to that of the Waiver contracts including a MAPS (multi-agency plan of service).  It has an identified duration that the contract will be in effect.  We become the contractor and must comply with all statutes, regulations, codes, ordinance, licensure or certification requirements.  We agree to hold the contracting Division harmless, to indemnify the contracting Division for any additional costs and/or liability.  Performance evaluations shall be conducted as may be deemed necessary.  The contract services must be implemented in a timely fashion, normally within 10 days of the notification of being approved unless an interim plan is developed due to the treatment plan being delayed.

The target population for this program will be adults who have been admitted to the Arkansas State Hospital under the legal status of Act 911 who have a dual diagnosis of developmental disability/mental illness.  Some of these individuals may also require rehabilitative services and/or treatment for substance abuse.  They are in need of individualized “wrap around” services.  Generally, they will require some of the following services: Case Management; In-home Companionship; Professional Consultation; Family Support Services; Special Assistance; Drug and Rehabilitation Services.

At the end of a six month period, or sooner if deemed necessary, the case manager, in conjunction with all service participants, will meet and review the individual’s status.  Progress will be measured on the basis of several areas relating to reduction of targeted behaviors, reducing the level of intensity, acquisition of appropriate targeted behaviors or 911 revocation.

There are a variety of service options that may be available in the 911 Services program.  They include developmental services which are intensive, structured services designed to meet specific needs for individuals who are experiencing serious emotional problems and their families.  These services are directed at the development and maintenance of life skills and community integration.  Other options include a collaborative evaluation, personal care, consultation services, adaptive equipment/physical adaptations, individual/family support, supported living, case management, residential placement, supported employment, substance abuse counseling/treatment.

This program of service is offered based on the referrals we get and the funding available for the program.
